Modern Meadow.

Modern Meadow was conceived as an extension of the golf course that embraces and contrasts with the sharp edges of a contemporary home.

Dul Landscape Architecture thoughtfully created a meadow-like feel for this project. Expansive drifts of ornamental grasses anchor the planting design to achieve this effect. Native River Birch were introduced to create an ornamental transition to the mature, meticulously preserved, Red Oak grove. Dawn Redwood were selected for their unique feathery texture to compliment the meadows and create a welcoming canopied entry experience.

The site features a large pond that was dredged and cleared of invasive vegetation. Aerators were added to promote oxygenated water that is also utilized for site irrigation. The perimeter was re-graded, with turfgrass rolling into the pond, to emulate water features found throughout the golf course. A dry riverbed, made of cobblestone and boulder outcroppings, was designed to control the water elevation as well.

The driveway travels up sloping topography and highlights the dramatic views of the 2.6 acre site, pond, meadows, golf course and architecture. Walkways, terrace patios, and a generous service court were created to blend naturally within the environment.
