Playful Paradise.

Our team of landscape architects thoroughly enjoyed creating a magical sensory experience for this family with young children. Set within a serene neighborhood of rolling hills, the redesigned property maintains a pastoral simplicity in the front yard. Natural flagstone paving leading to the rear yard creates an immediate tactile impression, encouraging us to slow down, look, smell, and feel. A repurposed swimming pool serves as the centerpiece. The original pool shell was preserved, with large boulder elements inserted to provide seating, diving platforms and a dream-like, habitable waterfall. Lush drifts of flowering perennials offer texture, color and visual interest throughout the seasons; fragrances abound. Intimate spaces for a kitchen, vegetable garden, spa and firepit are positioned around the pool, while a captivating children’s playground with a one-of-a-kind treehouse extends into the canopy offering a delightful vantage view of the warm home, the natural landscape beyond, and the playful paradise below.
